“The return of Long Island Pride to an in-person event will bring the community together proudly and safely. “After a year of staying in, we are excited and thrilled to be OUT” says New York LGBT Network President and CEO David Kilmnick. Proof of vaccination will be required for attendance, and CDC guidelines will be followed. The event is also limited to ticket holders only. The organization will be checking that on the day of the event. The LGBT Network will also require that people have the COVID-19 vaccine. Further away will be general admission tickets for $40. It started out as a single day in the Magic Kingdom has grown into one of the largest gay and lesbian events to include a business expo, parties, theme park and attraction events and much more. The area closest to the stage will be VIP tickets with a price tag of $75. Gay Days at Disney World is the worlds most popular gay and lesbian celebration, attracting over 150,000 gay and lesbian travelers to Orlando Florida. In 2020, the event was supposed to take place at Jones Beach but was canceled due to the pandemic and was held virtually.
“It is great to be back, and it’s going to be great to be together again. More and more people are getting vaccinated, and we are going to have a live, in-person LI pride event this year,” says David Kilmnick, of the LGBT Network. News 12 is told it will be a ticketed event, with a limit of 500 people. The 2021 Pride Fest will take place at Eisenhower Park’s Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre on Sunday, June 13 from 12 to 4 p.m. The Long Island Pride celebration is set to return as an in-person event in June.
